- minds horses, and generally assists carter (719) q.v. cart minder (market); holds heads of market cart horses whilst driver 1719) q.v. transacts his business.

- as for van boy.
- guard (cartage)

- guard, motor (Post Office)
- travels on motor vans belonging to Stores Department to guard stores in transit from head office to sub or branch offices; assists in loading and unloading of vans; gets check slip receipt for stores delivered and returns it signed to storekeeper (941) q.v.; when not so engaged, assists generally in stores.
