- motor cab proprietor, motor charabanc proprietor
- an owner of motor cabs, motor coaches, etc., which he lets out on hire.
- motor garage manager
- is responsible to motor garage proprietor q.v. for control of motor garage and of staff employed thereat; supervises storage arrangements for private owners' cars, letting-out of cars on hire, and execution of repairs to vehicles; in charge of sales, i.e. petrol, spares, etc., personally keeps account books, collects monies, pays wages, etc., and renders accounts to proprietor.

- owns a motor garage, in which he carries on one or all of the following businesses :—(i) executing repairs to motor vehicles;
- (ii) letting out cars on hire;
- (iii) storage of cars for private owners.
- motor hirer, motor jobmaster
- owns motor vehicles (lorries, taxi-cabs, private cars, etc.) and lets them out on hire, with or without drivers, by day, week, month, etc., at agreed rates, to commercial or private users, or, (taxi-cabs) to taxi-cab drivers (720) q.v.
