ball blower
makes foundation for tube drawing; gathers on end of blowing iron, quantity of "metal," i.e. , molten glass, shapes hall of metal by working it backwards and forwards on a marver, a steel plate or stone slab; creates space in centre of foundation by blowing gently into blowing iron, and hands-on iron and foundation to coverer (124) (q.v.).
gatherer, glass gatherer
takes up molten glass from furnace on heated end of iron blow-tube; rolls it on a marver, or on a block, to remove excrescences; and hands it, on the tube, to blower (124) (q.v.); cf. machine bottle gatherer (125).
ladler
ladles molten glass, metal, into frames or trays used in making plate glass.
