945.—Furniture Packers

furniture packer
binds furniture with shavings, and covers it with hessian (rough canvas) which he sews into position; protects flat top surfaces by covering them with stuffed mattresses; for export trade, also puts wrapped furniture, with shavings and other packing, into wooden cases; sometimes specifically designated, e.g. piano packer.
furniture remover, furniture van packer
shifts and stows furniture in vans, for removal to or from warehouses, shops, private houses, etc.; is skilled in handling and placing of furniture, protecting surfaces liable to damage by wrapping with hessian.
lifter (piano)
assists in moving of pianos from warehouse into shops or into private houses, or from one house to another.
