923.—Carpet Beaters, Vacuum Cleaners, Window Cleaners

- beater
- (i) removes dust from carpets, hangings, etc., by beating by hand with a stick;
- (ii) feeds carpet into beating or cleaning machine.
- cleaner, carpet
- cleans carpets by removing stains, marks, grease, etc., when necessary, using sponge, soap and water or cloth saturated with spirits, applied by hand.
- cleaner, vacuum
- holds nozzle of vacuum cleaning apparatus in hand and runs it over carpet, curtains, upholstery, etc., causing the removal of dust by suction.
- cleaner, window
- rubs window panes with damp chamois leather or with cloth wrung out of diluted methylated spirit or chalk mixture; polishes with soft dry cloth.
- folder, carpet
- folds carpets after they have been cleaned or beaten, and ties them ready for dispatch.
- opener, carpet
- unfolds carpets received at depot for beating and cleaning purposes; adds identification marks and notes general condition.
- sorter, carpet
- sorts carpets as to cleaning process; after cleaning re-sorts and packs for dispatch.
