beck watcher
see water bailiff.
decoy keeper, decoy man
erects wire netting tunnel traps on lake and marsh waters for decoying of wild ducks, etc.; sets decoy ducks; kills ducks so trapped and sends to market.
deer park keeper
feeds deer in private or public park at fixed times; drives deer into fold for night where necessary; generally attends to upkeep of deer park; repairs and sets up fences for fold; promotes growth of grass by scattering manure or soil; keeps watch that deer are not molested.
deer stalker
acts as guide to sportsmen hunting deer, directs stalking operations.
earth stopper
stops up rabbit holes, demolishes burrows in banks, etc.
fishery keeper, fish keeper (river)

fish watcher
see water bailiff.
gamekeeper
is responsible for the breeding, feeding, and general care and preservation of game patrols grounds against trespassers, lays traps for and destroys vermin.
keeper of fox cover
keeps trespassers from disturbing foxes in their dens; provides foxes with food if necessary, especially at breeding time.
rabbit breeder ; warrener, warren holder
in charge of privately owned rabbit warren in which rabbits are bred for game; keeps wire netting enclosure fence in repair; sets traps for and shoots vermin; patrols ground to keep off poachers; places food for rabbits when natural food is insufficient; kills and prepares rabbits for table or market, when required.

river bailiff, keeper, warder or watcher

trapper

warrener, warren holder
see rabbit breeder.

patrols rivers and lakes to] see that local bye-laws for protection of private fisheries are observed, keeps off trespassers and fish poachers; sometimes also breeds fish, see fish breeder (989).
