- driver, motor steam dray; motor steam lorry driver, steam lorry driver
; steam wagon driver
- drives dray, lorry or wagon (brewers, timber, etc.) propelled by steam motor.
- driver, steam omnibus
- drives an omnibus which is propelled by steam generated by flash boiler system and consuming paraffin or similar fuel.
- driver, steam roller
- drives, fires, and attends to a steam roller; controls driving wheel and directs roller, to and fro, along surface of road being rolled; shovels coal into boiler fire to maintain required steam pressure; periodically rakes fire to remove clinker and ashes; oils bearings, cleans engine, boiler parts and brasses with cotton waste.

- drives and attends generally to a mechanically-propelled tractor; may also act as steerer and stoker q.v.
- fireman, steam wagon
- feeds fire of steam wagon and assists driver to keep wagon clean; may also act as steerer q.v.
- steerer (steam wagon traction engine), motor steerer
- is in charge of steering wheel of steam wagon on traction engine; may also act as stoker q.v.
- stoker, motor steam lorry; motor stoker, motor wagon stoker
- feeds and cleans fire in engine of steam-propelled lorry or wagon; may also act as steerer q.v.
