vulcaniser (endorsing stamp) ; endorsing stamp maker
presses special composition over compositor's set-up type to make endorsing stamp mould; drys [sic] mould on hot plate, fills with plastic rubber and vulcanises as for vulcaniser, press.
vulcaniser, cold ; cure man, curer (cold)
(i) vulcanises thin rubber articles by dipping them into di-sulphide of carbon, or other vulcanising agent;
(ii) supervises machine which vulcanises special kinds of waterproof cloth by passing it over rollers running in trough of vulcanising liquid; guides cloth to rollers; operates starting and stopping levers; replenishes troughs.

a press vulcaniser or a steam vulcaniser q.v. engaged in vulcanising ebonite.
vulcaniser, hot air ; cure man, curer (hot air)
feeds material to be vulcanised to feeding roller in hot-air chamber; closes chamber door and operates hand lever, causing material to pass slowly over rollers in chamber; feeds vulcanised material as it issues from chamber on to receiving roller outside.
vulcaniser press ; cure man, curer (press), steam pressman
a steam vulcaniser q.v. who puts rubber articles in a mould; places iron plate on top and inserts between hollow steam-heated plates in a vulcanising press.
vulcaniser, steam ; cure man, curer (steam)
puts rubber articles into vulcanising vessels or into steam-heated chamber; turns on steam, and in cases where pressure-regulation is not automatic watches gauges and regulates steam cocks to see that necessary steam pressure is maintained during vulcanisation.
