- wraps round centre of cigar a paper ring or band, bearing identification marks of brand; fastens band with gum.

- stacks leaf tobacco, when moistened by tobacco liquorer (468) q.v. on special floor for maturing.
- catcher, cigarette catcher
; cigarette machine receiver
- gathers finished cigarettes from cigarette machine; weighs a given quantity from time to time to see that machine is maintaining standard weight; stacks cigarettes on racks ready for packing; throws out imperfect ones.
- cigarette machine feeder
- lays tobacco on travelling band of cigarette making machine, or in hopper which feeds machine automatically.

- wheels trucks of cigarettes from machines to storage racks.

- cuts off, with scissors, loose ends of tobacco from hand-made cigarettes.
