349.—Other Workers

glazer and dresser (leather laces): hangs a number of laces on a peg, and rubs in dressing of tallow and other greases by hand.
harness polisher for saddler: applies composition to harness with brush or pad, brushes until polish appears.
mopper: a polisher (q.v.) who uses a revolving mop or brush, on a lathe, to polish leather goods.
polisher, leather goods: polishes made-up leather goods by rubbing with a solution of bees' wax in turpentine; cf. finisher (348) and (343).
presser: flattens seams, etc., in leather goods by using hammer or hand press.
roller (leather laces): knots one lace, loosely round another; rubs it up and down the other to get a round-section effect.
sizer and roller (whips): spreads size over whip stock with brush, after braiding; passes iron hand roller over stock to remove roughness.
