armature bander, armature binder
secures coils in position by binding with tape or string, and binds structure of finished armature with wire, or otherwise, to give mechanical strength; also secures band thus produced by soldering.
coil finisher ; coil trimmer
cuts off tags and ends of finished coils, by hand with snippers to give a neat finish.
coil former, coil maker
see winder, coil.
coil presser
presses into shape between two plates, coils for dynamos and motors, in a specially constructed press actuated by a band or foot lever.
coil repairer
strips coils; examines parts, and does any repairs (by rewinding of damaged parts or otherwise) that may be required.
coil trimmer
see coil finisher.
winder, armature ; dynamo winder
places coils in symmetrical position on armature structure, and connects to commutator or slip rings by end risers soldered or bolted in position.
winder, armature disc; armature coil winder
see winder, coil.
winder, bobbin ; spool winder
winds, on bobbins of wood or other material, insulated wire in several layers as required for use in electrical apparatus; work done on lathe or spindle.
winder, coil ; armature coil winder, armature disc winder, coil former, coil maker
sets bobbins of coil wire in grips of coil winding apparatus, hand or electrically driven; attaches end of wire to porcelain bobbin; starts motor; guides wire as it is wound on bobbin; solders and insulates joints.
winder, dynamo
see winder, armature.
winder, field coil
as for winder, bobbin.
winder, field magnet
as for winder, bobbin.
winder, induction motor
an armature winder q.v. engaged in winding induction motors.
winder, magnet
winds coils of wire which are put round magnet cores used in magnetos and small electromechanical apparatus, either by hand or by machinery; in latter case feeds automatic machine with wire, and controls machine by lever.
winder, magneto; magneto armature winder
winds wire by hand or machine on finished armature core; hinds finished armature with tape; solders thicker connecting wires to end of windings, and varnishes armature.
winder, mesh
an armature coil winder q.v. who winds by hand type of armature known as mesh armature.
winder, rotor
an armature winder q.v. engaged in winding "rotors," i.e., revolving parts of alternating current machines.
winder, solenoid
a coil winder q.v. who winds coils of wire for use in solenoids.
winder, spool
see winder, bobbin.
winder, stator
an armature winder q.v. engaged in winding stators.
winder, transformer
a coil winder q.v. who winds wire coils on formers for fitting into transformers.
winder, tube
a coil winder q.v. engaged in winding wire round a tubular insulator.
winder, turbo-alternator; turbo winder
an armature winder q.v. engaged in winding stators and rotors of alternators.
