- foreman plater
- is in charge of process of plating metals by electro-deposition, i.e., covering of britannia metal, albata, white metal, etc., with a coating of gold, silver, nickel or copper; operates dynamos used in connection with plating vats or drums; .mixes solutions used in plating, or superintends their mixing; superintends work of platers (282), vat hands (299), finishers (285), polishers (285) q.v., and labourers employed in connection with plating processes; keeps time and output records of these workers; sometimes personally performs more difficult plating and/or gilding work; is generally a skilled plater (282) and/or gilder (282) q.v.
