- fitter's mate, gas fitter's mate
- assists gas fitter (235) q.v. in all semiskilled work of gas fitting, e.g., taps ends of pipes, holds up work; also hands tools, fetches and carries material and tool bag; usually a youth in process of learning trade of gas fitter.
- gas fitter's labourer
- does labouring work for gas fitter (235) q.v. carrying pipes, gas fittings and tools, pushing truck with gas fire, stove, etc.; usually has no undertaking to be taught trade.
