- fruit picker
- a casual worker on a fruit farm picking any fruit, e.g., strawberries, plums, during short season when fruit is ripe; places fruit in baskets for despatch.
- pea picker
- a casual worker in a market garden who picks peas by hand and places them in sacks ready for despatch to market; picks or gathers other vegetables at other seasons.
