- a learner who receives instruction in all branches of practical farming carried on by farmer, including buying and selling of farm produce and equipment.
- forestry student, forest apprentice
- a learner who is in course of training in the theory and practice of forestry by working under instruction of forester (016) (q.v.) on a private estate or at a State school.
