; agricultural agent, estate factor (Scotland), land bailiff or steward
- acts as representative of estate owner in letting farms and in dealing with tenants' complaints or requests; arranges for repairs and general upkeep of property; is responsible for the collection of rents; controls office where all accounts of estate are dealt with; pays or is responsible for the payment of all expenses incurred by the estate, and is responsible for the satisfactory working of home farms worked directly by a farm bailiff (015) (q.v.).
