director of production
see producer, cinema.
film editor
assembles film negatives by piecing them together with gum; verifies negatives as to continuity of story; frequently also writes sub-titles; is sometimes a film producer (q.v.).
producer, cinema, film ; director of production
makes arrangements for cinematograph production, and superintends staging and photographing; directs action of players and is generally responsible for production.
studio manager, film studio manager
is in charge of film studio where cinematograph films are exposed, developed and printed, and of staff, including scene shifters (887), electricians (307) (q.v.), etc.; gives instructions for putting up scenery as and when required by film producer (q.v.); does not, as a rule, deal with correspondence or arrange for exhibition of films.
