- represents an insurance company (or more than one) in a particular town or district, securing new policies, collecting premiums, etc., on commission basis.
- broker, insurance
- arranges insurance transactions (more especially maritime) between insurance company or underwriters (793) (q.v.) and client; charges brokerage.
