- clerk collector
- combines duties of clerk (939) and of ticket collector q.v.; obsolescent, now graded either as clerk or as collector according to exact nature of duties.
- corridor train collector
- see train ticket collector.
- excess collector, excessman
- collects excess fares from passengers when travelling, e.g. by a route or in a class other than that covered by their tickets; obsolescent , now graded as ticket inspector, ticket collector or train ticket collector q.v. according to exact nature of his duties.
- foreman ticket collector, foreman ticket examiner
; chief ticket collector, head ticket collector, senior ticket collector
- controls work of ticket collectors q.v. at large stations; arranges rosters etc.; sometimes himself collects tickets.
- gateman (ticket collector), gate ticket examiner
- see ticket collector.
- head ticket collector, senior ticket collector

- ticket collector, ticket checker, ticket examiner, ticket taker

- collects and examines tickets of passengers leaving arrival platform; examines and clips tickets of passengers entering departure platform; charges excess fare where due.

- boards trains and examines passengers' tickets; directs passengers as to route where necessary; collects excess fare where due, or takes particulars of passengers' addresses, etc., for recovery of fares in certain instances.
- toll collector, bridge toll collector
- collects tolls from pedestrians, drivers of vehicles, cattle drovers, etc., passing over bridge owned by railway company; renders periodic reports to toll inspector (700) q.v.
- train ticket collector, travelling ticket collector, travelling ticket examiner
; corridor train collector
- collects tickets on corridor trains and excess fares where necessary; is attached to head office or to a district office and is usually rostered to travel regularly with specific trains; under supervision of ticket inspector q.v., makes surprise examinations of passengers' tickets at any station or on any passenger train running in specified district or on main lines.
